Description
A capacitor discharge ignition is an electronic ignition device that stores an electrical charge and then discharges it through an ignition coil to cause the spark plugs in a gasoline engine to produce a powerful spark. Its ignition is powered by a current flowing through a capacitor. Its ignition works by passing a current through a capacitor. This type of ignition rapidly builds up a charge. A CDI ignition begins by generating and storing before sending it to the spark plug to ignite the engine.
