DRIVE BELLOW KITS With RIDGE (118-2744)

The bellows are rubber boots that keep water out of the boat and key portions of the drive. This bellow is affixed from the bell housing to the transom plate. It's made to keep the u-joints and drive shaft connected to the engine coupler safe. When misused, the bellow can cause a variety of issues. When water enters the u-joint bellow, it can damage the u-joints, gimbal bearing and even work its way into the outdrive via the input shaft seal. Bellows should be checked once a year and changed if necessary. Remember that bellows are made of rubber and will degrade over time. You can keep your drive in excellent operating order and avoid costly repairs in the future with a bit of preventative maintenance.
